The Most Popular and Desirable Glass Insulators

In the fall of Dwayne Anthony conducted a survey on ICON about what was the most popular, desirable and favorite glass insulators.  In the case of a tie for the tenth position, a special tie-breaker vote was conducted to determine the final tenth position The shaded rows represent the next ten runner-ups.

His survey broke them down into three categories:

• Most Widely Desirable Scarce to Rare Glass Insulators - Participants were asked to vote for those scarce to rare glass insulators they felt were the most WIDELY desirable within the hobby (but not necessarily the "rarest of the rare"). Participant's were also asked to be specific with CD style; embossing (if any); and color. (76 participants)
• Most Desirable CD Styles - Based solely on insulator designs (CD styles) that are most pleasing to the eye. Entries were open to worldwide glass insulators, both pin type and non-pin type, common to rare, threaded or threadless, currently assigned CD numbers were required. (69 participants)
• Most Widely Popular Glass Insulators - Based primarily on overall collector perception, at any collecting level, of the most widely popular insulators in the hobby, common to rare. (69 participants)
