I'm just getting into modular and have ordered an Oneiroi from Perfect Circuit. They had a great price due to first purchase coupon offer. And they shipped right away so I'm impressed.starthief wrote: Thu Nov 07, 9:05 pm Usually I will check here (unless it's a brand new module) and Reverb. But shopping around is best.Thank you so much! Ctrl-Mod tends to ship fast, in my experience.
Detroit Modular is pretty good too.
Thomann, Schneidersladen, and Juno sometimes have lower prices than any US shops, even factoring in shipping costs.
Perfect Circuit is a mixed bag. I will never preorder from them again, after having to cancel multiple times. They're often the last place to receive stock and more than once, they had "preorders" open for gear that they were never going to get. But for in-stock items, discount codes and sales are frequent (or at least, used to be) and sometimes their prices beat others'.
I've ordered from Modular Addict a few times for cables, and Thonk a few times for knobs and accessories.
cthulolz wrote: Thu Nov 07, 9:15 pm You can also order direct from a number of manufacturers through their web storefronts and sometimes - like with Ladik - only through their web storefront.isn't that the only way to order Ladik? They are great.
Hangtimekites wrote: Fri Nov 08, 1:29 am https://pushermanproductions.com/Pusherman does ship to the US! I bought an ATN8 from them, works great.
Great source of modules at friendly prices, builds are good, also has built modules for sale. Not sure if they ship or distribute in the u.s. though.
Goto RoyalRay to know more.

If someone seems knowledgeable and is responsive, go to them first. These shops are all small with tiny margins and are often labors of love. The salespeople tend to be passionate about the gear, and not pushy at all. You may pay slightly more than buying used, but youll build a relationship which will pay off in the long term. Thanks for letting me know about the forum here!. Hadn't really looked there yet.
Ive had great experiences with Shawn at Analogue Haven, but there are lots of others.
That said, this forum has some great deals, especially for discontinued and obscure modules.

fruitsnake wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2:19 pm https://www.ctrl-mod.com/ has a great used section - the inventory changes almost daily since it's NYC's modular store. Thanks for the tip! Looks great.

Hangtimekites wrote: Fri Nov 08, 1:29 am Not really qualified to answer this as I'm in the U.k. so not sure which of the ones I use ship or have distribution in the U.S. but I think they do. In terms of transparency I am not "sponsored" by any of these manufacturers and I have paid for every order myself with my own cash, the people below have delivered excellent customer service in my case and I've enjoyed their builds, yes it's mostly DIY but if you are interested in that give it a shot. This is a great list and I really appreciate you sending it! Good to be home in the nut house!

Love these modules, superb bang for the buck especially if you order BOM's from tayda.com. link will take you to distributors and they have U.S. disties.
Not much experience of Etsy but I've ordered Takaab modules there and arrived promptly. Also recently purchased a free modular kit which was a great build. There was a little glitch in the firmware, emailed the designer who very quickly rectified the code, really impressed me. Free modular is 100% open source, he's in Washington, nice.

Think I'd great but again I'm not sure about u.s. I think they have disties?

Just bought and built my first module from RYK after meeting Jake at a synth event (what a great chap). Such interesting designs and the sound is superb (built the Algo kit). Highly recommended.
Erica Synths deserve a mention, personally I have no experience but their reputation is one of the best in euro.
If course there are many other great manufacturers, designers and retailers out there to be discovered, these are the ones I have personally used and been impressed by, in all cases their customer service has been superb.
Used eBay, reverb are good, I am less trustful of FB marketplace as it's easy to get ripped off but I have sold on there, can be worth a punt if you can establish they are genuine.
Anyway enjoy your modular journey, welcome to the nut house

In the last few months, I have bought a couple of Droid modules and pre-ordered both the QMMG and Bruxa from PC. Everything arrived timely, well packaged, and without any problems. They pretty much always have a 10% promotion (even when they don't advertise it, recent promo codes tend to keep working), and it has become one of my go-to stores.

That said, I have ordered several times from pretty much all the regular established outlets (the ones that come to mind are Detroit Modular, Signal Sounds, Juno, Ctrl-Mod, Vintage King, Analogue Heaven, Control Voltage, Patchwork, Schneidersladen, but I am probably missing some). Across the board, I have only had great experiences, and I would not hesitate to order from any of the established online stores.
